About the Project:
This project will focus on redesigning the Pre-calculus and Calculus curriculum and pedagogy. The primary goal of this project is student focused—an increase in the number of students, particularly historically marginalized students and women, who successfully complete Pre-calculus and Calculus I helping them to succeed and persist in STEM. The project also aims to improve the preparedness of Cuyamaca math instructors by aligning professional development to the redesigned curriculum and student-centered instructional approaches

About the Project:
This project will move STEM from a “weed out” culture to a culture of care by expanding the Humanizing Online STEM Academy to more California Community Colleges and California State Universities. The Humanizing Online STEM Academy, developed by Foothill College and the University of California, Irvine (UCI), promotes a culture of care through positive instructor-student relationships by training faculty on eight research-based interventions.
